One Day wins FIPRESCI award in Cannes
The jury of the International Federation of Film Critics, FIPRESCI, has awarded the International Critics' Prize to One Day at the 71st Cannes Film Festival.
Hungarian filmmaker Zsófia Szilágyi’s debut was a success not only among film critics but the audience as well, screened to a full house at the festival. The director wanted to tell about everyday reality which proved to be rewarded as the FIPRESCI jury stated the following: “The precise camera work and the powerful mise-en-scène convey the extraordinary intensity and tension of an utterly ordinary situation with feeling, humour and drama. A remarkably confident debut”.
The feature was made with the support of Hungarian Film Fund Incubator Program, full digital post production was carried out at the Hungarian Filmlab. Congratulations to the staff, it was a pleasure to work with them!
