

Marcell Rév has been awarded at Camerimage for Euphoria
2019.11.19At the First Look TV Pilots Competition Marcell Rév got award for photographing the first episode of the American series, Euphoria. After the first 4 episodes in Euphoria, Marcell went on working on Ildikó Enyedi’s new feature, The Story of My Wife. The cinematographer of Enyedi’s previous film, On Body and Soul, Máté Herbai got the Golden Frog for the best DOP at the same festival.

Mikael Håfström’s Quick at the Hungarian Filmlab
2019.09.22Mikael Håfström, after returning to Sweden in 2018 from Hollywood to shoot his first Swedish film since Oscar nominated “Evil”, and such block busters as The Rite and Escape Plan, this summer came to Hungary, to finish his thriller at the Hungarian Filmlab.

A young Hungarian director has been awarded in Cannes
2019.06.26Isván Kovács’s graduate film, The Siege was rewarded as the best film at the Young Director Award, organized by the Commercial Film Producers of Europe at Cannes Lion. The short film that tells the story of a woman at the war in Sarajevo has already won the Student Oscar, and now is going to Karlovy Vary for the next competition. We go on keeping fingers crossed!

The uncensored version of The Witness premiered in Cannes
2019.05.20Again a Hungarian film was premiered at Cannes Classics, this time The Witness in original uncensored version. The 4K restoration, colour grading of the details so far unknown for the public was carried out at the Hungarian Filmlab.

A new sound studio at the Filmlab

Andy Vajna has passed away
2019.01.20Andy Vajna, Hungarian-American film producer and since 2011 commissioner in charge of developing Hungary's film industry has died at the age of 75 today. Andy, rest in peace!
